I’ve worked in healthcare for almost 20 years in a variety of roles and settings, from AIN to RN to Midwife, currently primarily working in the Birthing Unit in a large Regional Maternity Service. 

I’ve been a proud member of the NSWNMA since commencing as a New Grad RN in 2011. I became the Coffs Harbour Branch Secretary and Delegate in 2021 and have been very active in leading our branch in the fight for better pay and conditions, and representing members at statewide meetings. I was a member of the NSWNMA PHS voting sub-committee from 2024 to 2026, through which I contributed to strengthening our union’s democracy. 

I have always been deeply troubled by injustice and inequality. I’ve found taking action, I could counter the injustices and inequalities that I experienced, as well as those around me. 

I believe a strong union can make change if we work together in the spirit of collaboration and respect. Only then can we build strength and solidarity for our collective goals and win improvements for our professions.
