Edward Makepeace

  • RN, BN, Grad Cert Nursing (Cardiovascular)
Masters Health Services Management (Clinical Leadership)

  • Digital Health Analyst, SDPRIA, NSW Health

  • NSWNMA Councillor since 2015

I am an experienced cardiology nurse with over 15 years experience in NSW Health. I am currently using my clinical knowledge in the Digital Health space within NSW Health.

I have been a passionate and active NSWMNA member my entire career, it is a core part of who I am. I was the Branch Secretary for Royal North Shore Hospital for almost 10 years, one of the largest Branches of the NSWNMA.

I have been elected to Council for over 10 years, and since 2018 I have been elected as an Executive Councillor.

I bring a range of unique perspectives to Council

  • Deep understanding of NSWNMA process, policy and rules

  • Strategic thinking

  • Understanding of Health IT & the potential risks of implementing AI in our profession

I hope to continue to contribute to the leadership of this amazing Union. It is a privilege to represent NSW Nurses and Midwives and to ensure that the NSWNMA enables our members to strongly campaign for improved working lives and a better health system.

how to Vote for Edward

Every win we’ve secured comes back to one truth: we are always stronger together.

Under the NSWNMA's current leadership of Michael Whaites and Katrina Bough, this union has continually pushed forward – fighting hard for safer workplaces, better conditions, and genuine respect for the work we do.

Now, it’s time to protect that progress and keep building a better future for our union.
