Jocelyn Hofman
RN, Aged Care
Delegate, Bodington Branch
NSWNMA Councillor since 2018
I am a Registered Nurse and I work in aged care.
I am passionate about improving the lives of our residents we care for. I have seen and felt the severe impacts of understaffing in aged care on both members and residents.
I fought long and hard for aged care workers to be recognised and valued.
From the recommendations handed down by the Royal Commission, major aged care reforms include a new Aged Care Act launched in 2025, mandatory direct care minutes, and RNs 24/7 in residential aged care facilities.
I was one of the witnesses who faced the Fair Work Commission for our Aged Care Work Value Case.
Aged care workers in Australia are now receiving historic wage rises up to 28.5%, driven by the Work Value Case.
We wouldn’t have achieved this much without the leadership and commitment of our union.
There is still a long fight ahead but our team is committed to ensuring the aged care sector is fixed for residents and members.
