I have a background in acute care and rural/remote nursing. I moved to Broken Hill as a new graduate in 2018 and never left: the red dirt got under my skin. I got involved in our local union branch with a fellow colleague in 2019 and have been involved with the union since. When I moved into my new role, I noticed a lack of voice for NUMs and nurse/midwifery managers, and was able to form the manager branch in 2026. While only small now, there are plans for it to have continued growth.  

I stand with the Whaites + Bough team: they show exemplary leadership and the experience, knowledge and resources to continue to take the union forward and do what is best for all the membership across all health disciplines in metropolitan, regional and remote areas.
