Katrina Bough

  • Assistant General Secretary, NSWNMA

  • RN, BN

I’m a third generation nurse who has been an RN since 2012. Most of my clinical experience is in ED, surgical, and as a clinical facilitator for undergraduate nursing students.

During my career as a nurse, I advocated alongside my fellow nurses and midwives for a better public health system. This included my branch official roles as Delegate and President.

Our fight to keep our local hospital in public hands, after plans by the NSW Coalition government to privatise, is where I gained my experience in campaigning and the power of the collective.

I commenced working at the Association in 2020 and have held various roles prior to starting my role as your Assistant General Secretary in January 2026.

I led our aged care team in growing our membership and enforcing legislated care minutes and work value pay increases. I was also the campaign coordinator working alongside Unions NSW in fighting changes to workers compensation legislation. I’m passionate about workplace safety.

I am a fierce advocate for our professions and am ready to do the work required to lead us into the future together.
