I’ve been a nurse for 48 years, living and working on the Central Coast for 39 years. During this time I have worked in two Transitional Care Units. The first was The Long Jetty Continuing Care unit. When that closed, I moved to the TCU at Woy Woy Hospital.

Our patients are generally elderly. They enter the program with the aim of improving all aspects of their care, which allows and encourages greater independence and dignity.

I’ve been a Branch Official since 1996 and assisted in forming branches at both these workplaces.

I have been a strong activist, especially since 2005 when we all united for the ‘Your Rights At Work’ campaign.

I have been actively involved with multiple campaigns: Aged Care, anti-privatisation, Save Medicare, The Robin Hood tax, and many more.

I will always stand up for nurses’ rights, for improved pay and conditions, and to demand respect and recognition of our professions.

We need an experienced and united leadership to advocate for our patients, nurses, midwives and carers in all sectors.
